Our Demands
Barnard and Columbia, launch a full investigation into your Epstein ties and establish a student oversight committee to support this investigation.
Barnard College:
• Remove Francine LeFrak from the Board of Trustees.
• Rename the LeFrak Wellness Center.
• Launch an investigation into Barnard's ongoing ties to
Epstein.
• Investigate, among others: the Milsteins (Cheryl Glicker Milstein: Former Chair of Board of Trustees and Namesake of Milstein Library) and Blankfeins (Laura Blankfein, Former Member of Board of Trustees, Lloyd Blankfein, Former CEO of Goldman Sachs).
• Fully fund the Barnard Center on the Research of
Women.
Columbia University:
• Fire Jay Lefkowitz, Epstein's former lawyer and a longtime friend, as Columbia's lawyer and remove him as a Visiting Professor.
• Strip Richard Axel, longtime friend of Epstein who exchanged over 900 emails with him, of his title as a University Professor.
• Launch a thorough investigation into Columbia's affiliations with Epstein, notably into the Columbia Dental School and New York Presbyterian Hospital. In particular, the University must shed light on any investigations in response to a report filed in 2019 claiming that a minor victim of Epstein's sex trafficking operation was treated at New York's Presbyterian's Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital .
• Fire Dr. James Burke Fine, who knowingly treated Epstein victims, from his Columbia faculty position.
Provide Reparations.
• Publish public letters denouncing Columbia & Barnard's ties with Epstein and re-state commitment to survivors.
• Dedicate funds to local, on-the-ground survivor justice organizations.
• Speak with survivors and students and listen to their demands and take action.
